Our workouts are true to cycling and adhere to scientifically-proven training techniques. We utilize interval training, whereby periods of high exertion are mixed with periods of active recovery. Studies show the body responds most rapidly—and dramatically—to this kind of interval training. Be prepared to sweat!
Cycling is a cardiovascular exercise that strengthens the heart, increases your aerobic capacity, builds muscle strength, and tones the body by shedding fat and burning tons of calories…among many other benefits!
Absolutely! We ask that all new riders arrive no later than 20 minutes before their first class. We want to make sure we can show you around and get you set up properly and for a safe ride.
At Steel Wheels we use real-time performance data from your ride to allow you to track your results and monitor your progress over time. Data from your ride is displayed on two large screens at the front of the room so you can see how you are stacking up against other riders in the class. If you prefer to be anonymous, you don’t have to be on the screen! You will have the option to be on or off—just let our receptionist know!
Yes! We are here to push you, but we also encourage you to listen to your body when you ride at Steel Wheels. If you are unable to keep up with the cadence or resistance, don’t do it! If you need a break, take it! It is always a good idea to consult with a medical professional before starting a new workout routine.
Yes! But please note that we release bikes five minutes prior to the start of class. If you are running late, give us a call to assure we hold your bike.
Any type of athletic clothing that you feel comfortable in is suitable, although we suggest pants that fit tight at the ankles and fabrics that are sweat wicking. Men must wear a shirt during class.
We offer complimentary shoe rental at Steel Wheels so you can get the true cycling experience. You may bring your own cycling shoes, but our bikes are SPD and LOOK DELTA compatible only.
A water bottle, we have a purified water filling station at the studio. If you forget one, we have water for sale, as well as refillable bottles.
Check in with our fabulous front desk staff or on the self-sign in iPads. They can hook you up with shoes if you need them and answer any questions you may have.
We provide towels for your ride, and have combination lockers for your personal belongings, on site luxury bathrooms and showers (complete with toiletries and towels), a hairdryer, hair ties, earplugs, mints, and everything in between.
Create an account for yourself at www.steelwheels.com and continue on to the purchase page. Choose your desired package. From there, click the reserve button and choose your class. You can even choose your bike!
You can absolutely cancel! But in order to avoid a penalty, you must cancel your class 12 hours before your scheduled class. If you cancel within the 12 hours, you will forfeit the ride, or if you are a member a penalty of $12 will be charged to your account. You can cancel by logging into your Steel Wheels account and clicking “unreserve”. You can also call our fabulous front desk staff. Be sure to leave a voicemail if you call during our off hours. At this time, we do not accept cancellations via email or social media.
